Oregon state-wide RENT CONTROL
Owner has less control: less likely to rent space.
Tenants have more control: more people want to rent.
Could there be a nuttier way to address a housing
shortage then to increase demand and reduce supply?
Not to mention that the same goofy LEFT is anxious
to DOUBLE property taxes, and watch what THAT will
do to rental costs.

Shawn Cleave
Shaun Jillions
Shawn Cleave has more than 19 years of state government affairs experience, quietly working behind the scenes and influencing Oregon's political theatre. Starting in 1999 as a full-time intern for Senate Majority Leader Gene Derfler, Shawn is now Government Affairs Director for the
Oregon Association of REALTORS, where he manages programs for issue campaigns and legislative development, and is responsible for an estimated $1.1 million candidate political action committee, over a two-year cycle.
Shaun Jillions is an Oregon native who got his education in communications and law in southern California, joining the Oregon Bar in 2004. He has served as Vice President of Public Policy for the
Oregon Association of REALTORS, and now is a partner in
Deckert Jillions LLP, representing a corporations, trade associations and non-profits before government entities in Oregon, and before Oregon's Congressional representatives.
They might just know enough about real estate to know how the state is about to simultaneously hamstring land owners and throw old people out of their homes, ya think?

Any member or speaker may submit, by email, a simple update text presentation to be sent to the club mailing list, to give the membership to have more details, or just a recap of your platform presentation. To be considered for publication, please be sure to submit your update within 24 hours of the close of the meeting. Please don't include any pictures in your text, but links to web pages, or links to things stored elsewhere on the web -- .pdf files, Word documents, or even pictures -- are OK now. Formatting and inserted pictures will not be copied, just the text content, so please don't use 4 fonts and 6 colors to convey your thoughts: you will be disappointed. Look at a previous followup email, or the bottom of most of the invitation emails, to see how they are presented. The simpler and cleaner your text, the more likely it will appear exactly the same in the email we send out. The Freedom Foundation is a regional think and action tank dedicated to removing government unions influence on the political cycle.
Due to our campaign SEIU 503, the state’s largest union, has suffered
21% in membership losses since the Janus decision. This has led to annual revenue losses of over $8 million dollars.
Their response? A bill to filter the lost union dues through a separate government entity that would be paid by taxpayers directly. Learn more by watching our
