Executive Club Meeting!
7:00 pm • Wednesday December 6th • Airport Shilo Inn
There's an old quip about trying the same thing over and over,
but expecting a different result, remember? Insane, right?
So here's a question:
Do conservatives actually want to WIN in Oregon?
Yes, you cry?
Well, then, should we not get smart about things that DO
win in Oregon, and scrap the failed strategy that's
gotten us sneers from the left and promoted folks
giving up and joining the dark side for selfish gain?
So, what wins?
Let's hear what research and polling says, from two of
Oregon conservatism's most reliable strategists:
Gregg Clapper
(with the hat)
Jeff Kropf
(with no hat)
Gregg started in radio at age 16, eventually owning 9
radio stations. That led to Rush Limbaugh and politics,
which led to meeting Don McIntire, which led to Measure 5,
and more than 50 contentious campaigns in the last 27 years.
Jeff is a 5th generation Oregon farmer and former member
of the Oregon House, serving the people of the rural
House District 17. His legislative time served exposed the
shortcomings of the Republican leadership in Salem.
And together they host the Executive Club,
as heirs to the Club that Don built.
Join us Wednesday night, where they'll present a data-driven
hope for the future of conservatism in Oregon,
overcoming past tragedy with future strategy.
Take notes. There will be a test: 2018 voting.

Submitting Followup Information
Executive Club passes on meeting followup information as a courtesy to our speakers and members. Any member or speaker may submit, by email, a simple update text presentation to be sent to the club mailing list, to give the membership to have more details, or just a recap of your platform presentation. To be considered for publication, please be sure to submit your update within 24 hours of the close of the meeting. Please don't include any pictures in your text, but links to web pages, or links to things stored elsewhere on the web -- .pdf files, Word documents, or even pictures -- are OK now. Formatting and inserted pictures will not be copied, just the text content, so please don't use 4 fonts and 6 colors to convey your thoughts: you will be disappointed. Look at a previous followup email, or the bottom of most of the invitation emails, to see how they are presented. The simpler and cleaner your text, the more likely it will appear exactly the same in the email we send out. Each update must also indicate the author's name and contact information -- either a phone number, email address, or website with contact information. We reserve the right to edit for brevity, or reject, any submission.

Cascade is encouraging Oregonians to enter the national
Choices in Ed Video Competition for a chance to win several top prizes of $15,000 each, and other prizes of $5000 each for a short video telling your school choice story. Just use your Smartphone to share your story with the world and you might be a winner!
Entry Deadline is December 1, 2017
Cascade ran a
similar competition in 2009 which produces a number of excellent videos that we all can use to help convince our friends, neighbors and legislators that Oregon should give every K-12 student many more educational choices than the public school system alone provides. Take a look at three of our favorite entries:
Shoes,
Rylee's Choice, and
School Choice Coffee Analogy.
Don't worry too much about the technical qualities of your video; winners of the national competition will be selected based on the sincerity and passion displayed in the stories. You're eligible to enter if you're a student, parent or guardian, or alumnus of existing choice programs (public school/open enrollment, charter, magnet, private school, virtual/blended, or homeschool), or a person who wants more educational choice in your state. While you must be 18 years of age or older to enter, students are encouraged produce videos entered by their parents. Videos must be under two minutes long, and must be successfully uploaded by 11:59pm EST (8:59pm Pacific time) on December 1, 2017.
We hope one or more of you will be winners. Whether or not you win the national competition, Cascade would like to share your videos with other Oregonians. so feel free to send them to
steven@cascadepolicy.org after you've entered the Competition. That way, we can help tell your story and use it to move toward more School Choices in our state. To see more of our school choice videos, go to
SchoolChoiceforOregon.com.
So check out
the Competition and rules, and then
ENTER TODAY. Remember, the deadline is December 1st.
