Executive  Club  Meeting
7:00 pm •  Wednesday May 4th •  Airport Shilo Inn

OK, OK, I've just got to do it:
Q: How would a Jedi with a lisp greet you at our next meeting?
A: "May the 4th be with you!"

Now back to business. We tried, OK, we really tried:
Gubernatorial debate between the most likely GOP candidates,
with perfect timing: ballots in our hands, pens at the ready.

But Allen Alley could not be here. Hmm.
Must be our crazy, unpredictable meeting schedule, I guess.

So Bud Pierce gets another opportunity to make his case to
put a lid on the boiling pot of liberal nonsense on Salem's stove.

Dr. Bud Pierce

Dr. Pierce is a 1994 transplant from California... too bad for California.
'Cause Bud's bio reads like an ad for commitment
to God, Family, Country, and a career of service.

Valedictorian in High School,
Phi Beta Kappa in College
Alpha Omega Alpha in Med School...
while courting his bride...
and being a Marine.

Board certified in Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Hematology,
Dr. Pierce practices in Salem, and teaches at OHSU in Portland
and Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon.
And serves on boards at his church, as well.

Too many awards to list, including, for 2014,
Oregon Medical Association Doctor Citizen of the Year

Battling disease should prepare a person for battling other
destructive adversaries, like excess government, bureaucratic bloat,
regulatory sprawl, and out-of-control public payrolls.

But the LAST doctor we had at the helm wouldn't know a free market from a
flea market, not to mention having just a few ethical lapses.

Ever hear the expression, "Put your money where your mouth is"?
Yeah, Bud is doing exactly that, funding his own campaign,
out of his own pocket, with a million bucks.

Contemplate that for a moment: think of the things he could have done
for himself and his family, like vacations, or a vacation HOME, or
a 1000hp car that tops out at 276mph, or apple pies for life.

Instead he's spending his money to help US fix this goofy state.
In other words, he's paying the price to redeem the price we've
all paid for having liberal Democrats at the helm for almost 30 years.

How many symptoms of a broken state do we need to see?
I mean, before we stop ignoring them?
Government managed, and money spent, by public unions.
PERS failures adjudicated by judges... on PERS!
Federal stranglehold on the forest industry.
Billions in upside-down expenditures.
The looming 7 billion dollar taxageddon.

Don't we deserve a better future than the last decades provided?

How about a better choice -- a Republican, conservative choice -- at the helm?

So let's hear a conservative doctor's prescription for restoring Oregon's health.

Seriously, Oregon needs fixing; on that we all agree.
Let's have a chat with a candidate who can do that.

Wednesday night, May 4th.

Submitting Followup Information

Executive Club passes on meeting followup information as a courtesy to our speakers and members. Any member or speaker may submit, by email, a simple update text presentation to be sent to the club mailing list, to give the membership to have more details, or just a recap of your platform presentation. To be considered for publication, please be sure to submit your update within 24 hours of the close of the meeting. Please don't include any pictures in your text, but links to web pages, or links to things stored elsewhere on the web -- .pdf files, Word documents, or even pictures -- are OK now. Formatting and inserted pictures will not be copied, just the text content, so please don't use 4 fonts and 6 colors to convey your thoughts: you will be disappointed. Look at a previous followup email, or the bottom of most of the invitation emails, to see how they are presented. The simpler and cleaner your text, the more likely it will appear exactly the same in the email we send out. Each update must also indicate the author's name and contact information -- either a phone number, email address, or website with contact information. We reserve the right to edit for brevity, or reject, any submission.

From Darrell Gulstrom (503-332-5836)

Article IV, Section 4, begins with: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government."

Isn't part of the that Republican Form of Government a procedure for amendment, which includes the right of states to amend the Constitution? Then for states to have governance modelled after the federal Constitution, shouldn't the political subdivisions of states -- counties -- also have that right of amendment to their state's Constitution?

Please read the proposal, here: CONVENTION OF THE COUNTIES.

Please contact me by phone (503-332-5836) or email to ddgulstrom@yahoo.com to comment or assist in promoting this idea.

From Anne Marie Gurney (503-901-5635), Oregon Coordinator of Freedom Foundation.

The Freedom Foundation is pleased to announce the First Annual Freedom Foundation Dinner Event on June 24th at 6:30 pm. We are excited to have an amazing line-up of speakers:

Steve Forbes, chairman of Forbes Media and two-time candidate for president, will be the keynote speaker.

Other speakers include:

Rebecca Friedrichs, plaintiff in Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association, the just-decided U.S. Supreme Court case dealing with mandatory union membership for government employees; and, Dr. Eric Fruits, adjunct professor of economics, finance and statistics at the University of Portland, who will discuss Oregon’s economic malaise.

We are excited to continue to press on the gas of such issues as labor reform, worker choice and freedom in Oregon.

I would like to personally invite you to join us for what is sure to be a special and memorable evening. There are many ways to join us not just that evening and to invite additional guests you think might like to "meet" Freedom Foundation and hear not only about our aggressive mission but also our success in Oregon in the first year we've been here.

Click on the link below for more information about the speakers, sponsoring, prices and ticketing. This event will sell out, and I wanted you to be one of the first to be able to reserve you and your guests' seating.

From Sharon Nasset, candidate for House District 44

I am running in State House Representative District 44 to unseat Rep Tina Kotek, and I am asking for your help.

If you know anyone in District 44, please ask them to vote for me in Primary and write my name in if it is not on their ballot.

Please contact me if you can:
-- help by walking out fliers,
-- help by spending an afternoon driving walkers around,
-- help by making a donation

We have a real chance of winning by getting out and asking for the vote... turns out that not many people like Rep. Kotek, and many did not know she will not meet with constituents, community leaders, or citizens who have concerns on a range of issues.

Please contact me by email at sharonnasset@aol.com or visit Electnasset.com
