Executive  Club  Meeting  Reminder
7:00 pm •  Wednesday May 4th •  Airport Shilo Inn

May the 4th be with you, and may you be at the Shilo!

Because we have a most excellent match up before us:
two candidates for Governor of Oregon.

Dr. Bud Pierce Allen Alley

Dr. Bud Pierce and Allen Alley

Two entrepreneurs, respected in their fields, prosperous, dedicated...
And expecting to finish the night with your vote in their pocket.

About many things, they both agree,
so where they disagree is the difference for us to find.

How much government is too much? State? Local? Federal?
Global Warming, man or nature?
Economies, how free or restrained?

And how rapidly can they undo the
Kitzhaber, Kulongowski, Brown Oregon Death March.

So many topics, and only an evening to cover it!
Taxes, spending, regulation, crime and punishment,
Obamacare/Cover Oregon, transgender demands,
preservation of 1st Amendment rights...
with EVEN MORE taxes -- now "gross receipts" --
and even more spending (by us, on electricity!)

And did I mention Kate Brown? Can we change her title to
the Unthinkable Katie Brown, running out of town?

Minimum wage hike to destroy the poorest among us,
PERS making government the most lucrative "service",
2nd amendment gutted by fees and false criminality,
Crony endorsements and unfunded pensions.

Let's see how they want to deal with the Democrat mess.
No boxing gloves or wire cage, but it will be a battle.

Join us to see how it turns out, Wednesday night.

Submitting Followup Information

Executive Club passes on meeting followup information as a courtesy to our speakers and members. Any member or speaker may submit, by email, a simple update text presentation to be sent to the club mailing list, to give the membership to have more details, or just a recap of your platform presentation. To be considered for publication, please be sure to submit your update within 24 hours of the close of the meeting. Please don't include any pictures in your text, but links to web pages, or links to things stored elsewhere on the web -- .pdf files, Word documents, or even pictures -- are OK now. Formatting and inserted pictures will not be copied, just the text content, so please don't use 4 fonts and 6 colors to convey your thoughts: you will be disappointed. Look at a previous followup email, or the bottom of most of the invitation emails, to see how they are presented. The simpler and cleaner your text, the more likely it will appear exactly the same in the email we send out. Each update must also indicate the author's name and contact information -- either a phone number, email address, or website with contact information. We reserve the right to edit for brevity, or reject, any submission.

From Darrell Gulstrom (503-332-5836)

Article IV, Section 4, begins with: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government."

Isn't part of the that Republican Form of Government a procedure for amendment, which includes the right of states to amend the Constitution? Then for states to have governance modelled after the federal Constitution, shouldn't the political subdivisions of states -- counties -- also have that right of amendment to their state's Constitution?

Please read the proposal, here: CONVENTION OF THE COUNTIES.

Please contact me by phone (503-332-5836) or email to ddgulstrom@yahoo.com to comment or assist in promoting this idea.

From Anne Marie Gurney (503-901-5635), Oregon Coordinator of Freedom Foundation.

The Freedom Foundation is pleased to announce the First Annual Freedom Foundation Dinner Event on June 24th at 6:30 pm. We are excited to have an amazing line-up of speakers:

Steve Forbes, chairman of Forbes Media and two-time candidate for president, will be the keynote speaker.

Other speakers include:

Rebecca Friedrichs, plaintiff in Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association, the just-decided U.S. Supreme Court case dealing with mandatory union membership for government employees; and, Dr. Eric Fruits, adjunct professor of economics, finance and statistics at the University of Portland, who will discuss Oregon’s economic malaise.

We are excited to continue to press on the gas of such issues as labor reform, worker choice and freedom in Oregon.

I would like to personally invite you to join us for what is sure to be a special and memorable evening. There are many ways to join us not just that evening and to invite additional guests you think might like to "meet" Freedom Foundation and hear not only about our aggressive mission but also our success in Oregon in the first year we've been here.

Click on the link below for more information about the speakers, sponsoring, prices and ticketing. This event will sell out, and I wanted you to be one of the first to be able to reserve you and your guests' seating.

From Sharon Nasset, candidate for House District 44

I am running in State House Representative District 44 to unseat Rep Tina Kotek, and I am asking for your help.

If you know anyone in District 44, please ask them to vote for me in Primary and write my name in if it is not on their ballot.

Please contact me if you can:
-- help by walking out fliers,
-- help by spending an afternoon driving walkers around,
-- help by making a donation

We have a real chance of winning by getting out and asking for the vote... turns out that not many people like Rep. Kotek, and many did not know she will not meet with constituents, community leaders, or citizens who have concerns on a range of issues.

Please contact me by email at sharonnasset@aol.com or visit Electnasset.com
