Writing good laws isn't brain surgery, is it?

Well, maybe it is, because we sure have gotten some
lousy laws out of Congress, and when is the last
time we've seen a scalpel deftly applied to the
out-of-control spending in Washington?

Meet Dr. Monica Wehby, Republican candidate seeking
to replace Jeff Merkley as Senator from Oregon.

Dr. Wehby is a pediatric neurosurgeon, and Director of
Pediatric Neurosurgery at Randall Children’s Hospital in Portland.
She has nearly 30 years of experience formulating medical policy,
and has become a vocal advocate for change in the right direction.

In 2004, she led the campaign for tort reform as president
of the OMA (Oregon Medical Association).

In 2009, she risked her reputation by publicly sounding the alarm in
nationwide television commercials, warning about Obama's radical
deconstruction of US healthcare.

In 2011, she was elected to the board of trustees at the AMA
(American Medical Association) on a platform of being
a conservative change agent.

And in 2013, Dr. Wehby resigned from the board of the AMA
to run for the United States Senate.
